Bomani Tented Lodge

Stay for 3 pay for 2 at Bomani Tented Lodge in Hwange National Park

Bomani Tented Lodge is tucked away in the south eastern part of Hwange National Park.  Built on a private concession which is adjacent to the park, this allows guests an exclusive game viewing experience during their stay. This area of Hwange is beautiful and remote. It should not be missed.

Close to Bomani are the Ngamo Plains, especially well known for big game and large herds of elephant. The Elephant Express is a unique train transfer to get into this character filled safari camp, staffed entirely from the local community.

Bomani Tented Lodge is a peaceful and comfortable safari camp  with 9 tents and a large tented family suite, all with en-suite bathrooms. The relaxed guest areas and swimming pool overlook the waterhole which provides excellent wildlife spotting opportunities. The camp works closely with the Ngamo Village who benefit directly from a portion of the nightly guest fees.

Take advantage of our  stay for three night, pay for two nights price (see facts tab below for valid dates). Rates include a wide variety of exciting activities under the choices tab.

The camp is an all inclusive tented safari camp and offers day and night game drives, walking safaris and a Look-up Game Viewing Hide from which to get a frog's eye view of passing game. Join in a 'pump run' - a full day activity visiting the pumps in this region, maintained by Bomani and its sister camp Camelthorn, viewing game along the way and getting to the more remote areas of the park. Spend the morning at Ngamo Village and meet the community.

Species you could spot

A rare black rhino roams the Laikipia near Borana

Black rhinos

Once roaming widely across sub-Saharan Africa rhinos are now rapidly nearing extinction. The black rhino survives in remote pockets of arid wilderness and some protected reserves. It differs from the white rhino with its smaller size and a prehensile upper lip. This solitary browser feeds at night and wallows or hides under shade during the day. They're particularly bad tempered.

African wild dog stretching near Ruchomechi on the Mana Pools shoreline

Wild dogs

Also known as Cape hunting dogs, packs of painted dogs roam sparse woodlands and plains in isolated and remote areas. Sightings are never guaranteed on safari but the best chance of finding these endangered canines is in Botswana's Moremi and Linyanti in June; the Selous in July/August; also in the green season in the Luangwa Valley; the Mana Pools World Heritage Site and Hwange.

Mana elephant by Trish Berry

Elephants

Largest land animals on earth, the African elephant used to range widely through sub-Saharan Africa. Despite being threatened by habitat loss and ivory poaching African elephants have healthy populations in east and southern Africa. Best places to see elephants include Mana Pools and Hwange in Zimbabwe, Botswana's Chobe and Linyanti, the Luangwa Valley, Selous, Katavi and Amboseli.
