Spirit of the Zambezi
Experience the mighty Zambezi River up close and person from a canoe, a remote island and the magnificent Victoria Falls.
We've put together the Spirit of the
Zambezi trip to give you a chance to explore our favourite
river of them all - the Zambezi River!
Start with a 3-night canoeing
trip down the Lower Zambezi, through the heart of the Mana
Pools National Park. Rowing Canadian-designed canoes, you will be
right in the heart of things, passing animals in close proximity,
camping in 3m x 3m dome tents specially designed for comfort in
this terrain and walking the land just as early explorers would
Transfer to a small aeroplane and head to Musango Island just off the
Matusadona National Park. This is the only owner-run tourist
accommodation on Lake Kariba, and three nights provide a chance to
enjoy walking safaris, game drives and cruises on the lake in
comfort. The Bumi Hills will play host to these activities, a
stunning area with photo-worthy sights in every direction.
Having experienced the Lower Zambezi by canoe and Lake Kariba,
fly to Victoria Falls in a light aircraft, allowing you to see a
bird's eye view of the astonishing landscape below. Stay at
Imbabala Safari Lodge,
and as well as visiting the stunning Victoria Falls with a guide,
take part in a sunset cruise on the Upper Zambezi River,
watching the sun sink below the horizon with a beverage in hand.
Many other activities are available in Victoria Falls, whether you
are looking for a piece of colonial history, or wish to have a go
at adrenaline-inducing activities such as hurling yourself off the
Victoria Falls Bridge.
A day-trip to the Chobe National
Park in Botswana is also included, showing a different
landscape, new river and more wildlife, an unforgettable addition
to an already exciting safari.
