Easy, affordable accommodation options in both Vic Falls and Livingstone. Ideal and convenient money-saving places to stay

Zambezi Waterfront, Livingstone: A lively spot 4 km upstream of Victoria Falls.  Right on the edge of the Zambezi River.  Offers private en-suite chalets - "standard", "riverside", "family" and "executive".  The complex includes a restaurant, bar, swimming pool and activity centre. AdventureVillage, Livingstone - a cluster of 3 x 3m bow lockable tents built on raised platforms, each with a spacious veranda. The village accommodates 60 guests in 30 tents. You'll find spotlessly clean ablution facilities with hot and cold showers, basins and toilets. Rates from $20 per tent per night

Waterfront Campsite, Livingstone: Set in cool shady surroundings accommodating up to 120 guestsFacilities includes male and female ablutions, water, electric hook-up, braais (BBQ) and pool. Great for overland and self-drive visitors.  Bring all you own kit as there's nothing available for hire. $10 per night

Maramba River Lodge, Livingstone: 4 km from the falls and set on the banks of the Maramba River in Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park.  Options include tents for couples, chalets accommodating up to four guests each on a B&B basis.  Large campground available.  Ideal for travelling families and small groups. Rates from US$80 per night

Lokuthula Lodge, Victoria Falls: Adjoining Victoria Falls Safari Lodge and only 4km from town, a complex with 37 self-cater chalets accommodating between 6 and 8 guests.  Chalets are comfortable, convenient and fully serviced - ideal for families and groups of friends.  A bed and breakfast option is available. Maramba River Lodge, Livingstone: The six luxury safari tents provide all the comforts of a lodge without sacrificing the pleasures of a camping experience. The en-suite bathroom is tiled throughout with a shower open to the African sky. Tents are available with twin beds, doubles and singles.

Maramba's private chalets are spacious and airy. The rustic, thatched chalets all have en-suite tiled bathrooms, mosquito proofing with treated nets, ceiling fans, internal safe, and views over the Maramba River or floodlit waterhole. The chalets are available in twins, doubles and family units that sleep 4.

The Safari Tents offer en-suite bathrooms and mosquito nets all under thatch. These small yet well appointed tents offer the perfect compromise between budget and room facilities. Twin bed en-suite bathroom. 10 tents available.

The Dome tent area named 'The River Camp' is set on the bank of the Maramba River. Five 3mt x3mt walk in tents fitted with two full size single beds, bedside lamp and a lockable drawer. They have a dedicated ablution block with covered sitting area with views over the Maramba River.This accommodation is the ideal choice for school, church or voluntary groups or can be booked on an individual basis.

There is a total of 5 powered campsites available in a bush setting each with barbeque stand and table. A large ablution block services the site and there is 24 hour security.

Zambezi Waterfront, Livingstone:

Accommodation at the Zambezi Waterfron ranges from comfy chalets with en suite facilities to budget Adventure Village tents with shared ablutions, and camping.

The double story A framed chalets are dotted within lush gardens of the Zambezi Waterfront. Each chalet has three en suite rooms which are sold on a bed and breakfast basis. 10 standard rooms, non river facing and accommodate up to 2 people in two single beds. 4 family rooms, non river facing, accommodating up to 4 people in four single beds. 6 river facing rooms, accommodating up to two people in two single beds. 3 executive rooms, river facing, accommodating up to two people on a double bed.

There are 24 lockable dome tents in the Adventure village. Comfortably furnished with 2 single beds with bedding, stand fan and electric light. These are sold on a room only basis. Ablutions are shared.

The designated camping area offers camping for up to 120 people. Facilities include male and female ablutions, water facilities, electricity, BBQ facilities and swimming pool. You must bring all your own camping equipment and bedding as a hiring facility is not offered.

Lorrie's Lodge, Victoria Falls

Lorrie's Lodge is situated on Reynard Road in the quiet leafy suburb of the town of Victoria Falls.

It's clean and comfortable and Lorrie, Clive, George and their team are great hosts, offering warm welcoming hospitality. Here you arrive as a guest and leave as a friend! The facility has a pub that is frequented by both locals and tourists and the overall feeling is of friendliness and a relaxed atmosphere.

The rooms are each spacious, en suite, have a ceiling fan, and  are situated in two buildings in a shady garden surrounding a swimming pool. There's also a separate air conditioned honeymoon suite.

Dinner can be taken at Lorries daily - please advise Lorrie on arrival if you would like dinner. The cost is only US$20 for a 4 course meal, and her home cooking is excellent. A full English breakfast is included in the rate at Lorries, as is tea and coffee any time of the day and night.
