We've selected a range of affordable accommodation options in both Livingstone and Victoria Falls that offer the best value for money without compromising on quality.

Livingstone, Zambia

Zambezi Waterfront: A lively spot 4 km upstream of Victoria Falls, on the edge of the Zambezi River.  Offers private en-suite chalets, a restaurant, bar, swimming pool and activity centre. Rates from $65 to $135

Zambezi Adventure Village: offers lockable tents built on raised platforms, each with a spacious veranda. You'll find spotlessly clean ablution facilities with hot and cold showers, basins and toilets. Rates from $20 per tent per night

Waterfront Campsite: Set in cool shady surroundings, the campsite is well suited for overland and self-drive visitors. Facilities includes male and female ablutions, water, electric hook-up, braais (BBQ) and pool. $10 per night

Maramba River Lodge: 4 km from the falls and set on the banks of the Maramba River in Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park. The lodge offers tents as well as chalets and is ideal for travelling families and small groups. Rates from US$80 per night

Jollyboys Backpackers: offers en-suite chalets as well as dormitory rooms at a mere 2' walk from the centre of town.  Cold beers, refreshing pool and hot showers guaranteed.  It's relaxed, friendly and unpretentious. Rates from US$10 per night

Jollyboys Camp: A 10' walk from town.  Offers chalets, en-suite and dormitory rooms with a well-serviced campground.  Ideal budget option for families and groups. Rates from US$12 per night

Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe

Adventure Lodge: "Adventurer's central" is a converted hotel offering en-suite twin, double and family rooms. It's a hub for whitewater rafting enthusiasts. There's an active entertainment, bar/dining area and swimming pool. Rates from US$40 per person

Ilala Rest Camp: is the closest campsite to the Falls and is situated in the middle of town. Choose between tented acccomodation, chalets, dormitory rooms or a serviced campsite. Includes a swimming pool and restaurant. Rates from US$10 per person

Lokuthula Lodge: Adjoining Victoria Falls Safari Lodge and only 4km from town, the lodge offers self-catering chalets accommodating between 6 and 8 guests.  Chalets are fully serviced and ideal for families and groups of friends.   Rates from $180 per chalet per night.  The 3* choice....

Lorrie's Lodge: Situated in a quiet leafy suburb within walking distance of the town centre. Rooms are spacious, en-suite and have a ceiling fan. Includes full English breakfast and a swimming pool. Rates from US$50 per person sharing per night.

Maramba River Lodge, Livingstone

Combine the comfort of a luxury lodge with the pleasure of a camping safari. Maramba's six luxury safari tents all have en-suite bathrooms, tiled throughout with a shower open to the African sky. Tents are available with twin beds, doubles and singles.

Maramba's private thatched chalets  are spacious and offer amazing views of the Maramba River or the floodlit waterhole. The chalets are available in twins, doubles and family units and all have en-suite tiled bathrooms, mosquito proofing with treated nets, ceiling fans and internal safe.

The ten available Safari Tents offer en-suite bathrooms and mosquito nets. These small yet well-appointed tents offer the perfect compromise between budget and room facilities. The Dome tent area named 'The River Camp' is set on the bank of the Maramba River. It offers five 3m x3m walk-in tents fitted with two single beds, bedside lamp and a lockable drawer. This accommodation is the ideal choice for school, church or voluntary groups or can be booked on an individual basis.

There are five powered campsites available, each with barbeque stand and table. A large ablution block services the site and there is 24-hour security.

Zambezi Waterfront, Livingstone:

Accommodation at the Zambezi Waterfront ranges from comfortable chalets with en-suite facilities to budget Adventure Village tents with shared ablutions and camping.

The double-storey A-framed chalets are nestled within the lush gardens of the Zambezi Waterfront. Each chalet has three en-suite rooms on a bed and breakfast basis. Rooms available in the chalets include:

  • 10 standard rooms, non river-facing, can accommodate up to 2 people in two single beds.
  • 4 family rooms, non river-facing, accommodating up to 4 people in four single beds.
  • 6 river-facing rooms, accommodating up to two people in two single beds.
  • 3 executive rooms, river-facing, accommodating up to two people in a double bed.

There are 24 lockable dome tents in the Adventure village. Comfortably furnished with 2 single beds with bedding, stand fan and electric light. These are booked on a room-only basis. Ablutions are shared.

The camping area offers camping for up to 120 people. Facilities include male and female ablutions, water facilities, electricity, BBQ facilities and swimming pool. You must bring all your own camping equipment and bedding as a hiring facility is not offered.


Lorrie's Lodge, Victoria Falls

Lorrie's Lodge is situated on Reynard Road in a quiet leafy suburb of Victoria Falls. Lorrie, Clive, George and their team are great hosts and offer warm and welcoming hospitality. This is the kind of establishment where you arrive as a guest and leave as a friend! The facility has a pub that is frequented by both locals and tourists.

The lodge is clean and comfortable and offers a relaxed atmosphere. The en-suite rooms are spacious and each has a ceiling fan. There is a beautiful shady garden with a swimming pool. There's also a separate air-conditioned honeymoon suite.

Lorrie offers great home-cooked dinner for her guests on a daily basis. Please advice on arrival whether you would like to take advantage of this service. The cost is US$20 for a 4-course meal. A full English breakfast is included in the rate, as is tea and coffee any time of the day and night.
