Luxury Botswana Special

Explore the Linyati Concession and Okavango Delta over a 7 day safari in Botswana, offering pure luxury, outstanding wildlife and relaxation.

Botswana is one of the richest wildlife areas in the world, and is a first class safari destination. This remote area is relatively easily accessible, with a charter flight from Maun soaring into Linyati Concession, providing breath-taking views over Botswana throughout the flight.

Three nights are spent at Duma Tau, a camp in a beautiful setting on the Linyati River overlooking the Osprey Lagoon, just one of many lagoons in this river system. Privacy and peace is certain here, and game viewing activities that are the primary focus in this area take place on land, water and foot.

The next three nights see you in the Okavango Delta, residing at Tuba Tree Camp on Hunda Island. Game viewing and birding is again excellent, with a number of specialist bird species in the area including the African Fish Eagle and Pel's Fishing Owl. Explore the channels, islands and reservoirs in the incredible inland delta, returning to Maun when you have seen your fill.

This trip easily combined with other options, whether you travel elsewhere in Botswana, or head over to nearby Zimbabwe and Zambia.

Rates are valid until March 31st, 2016.

Species you could spot

Mana elephant by Trish Berry

Elephants

Largest land animals on earth, the African elephant used to range widely through sub-Saharan Africa. Despite being threatened by habitat loss and ivory poaching African elephants have healthy populations in east and southern Africa. Best places to see elephants include Mana Pools and Hwange in Zimbabwe, Botswana's Chobe and Linyanti, the Luangwa Valley, Selous, Katavi and Amboseli.

Lions

Celebrated in history for their courage and strength when they roamed most of Africa, parts of Asia and Europe. Nowadays the best places to see lions on safari are the Zambezi, Hwange, Okavango and Linyanti - ideally May to November; Queen Elizabeth NP's Ishasha area for tree-climbing lions; Katavi's Kapapa River in September to November; Kidepo Valley in north Uganda.

Giraffe and oxpecker by Trish Berry

Giraffe

Hello down there human!  Giraffes can see in a second storey window they're so tall, tallest animal in the world actually. A baby giraffe's first experience of the world is a 2 metre drop to the ground. A hump on the neck and a spotted skin caused them to be called a camel-leopard back in the day. Giraffes use their long flexible tongues to pick leaves off trees by the hundreds.
