Thorntree River Lodge blends naturally into the Zambezi's riverine vegetation and

This region is a biologically diverse network of ecosystems,
filled with over 400 species of birds and 30 species of mammals
in the surrounding forests and wetlands.
The area is home to rare birds such as the taita falcon, rock
pratincole and collared palm thrush.
Fishing is a regular pursuit on the upper Zambezi River -
Tiger Fish are the prime attraction - pound for pound, regarded
as the best freshwater fighting fish in the world.
